The Laverton Rail Upgrade Project was a State Government initiative to improve the efficiency and flow of trains around Laverton and Altona stations. As part of the project, Metro Trains Melbourne was engaged by the Department of Transport to arrange for the realignment of the east and west main lines, a new computer based signalling system and the addition of a new ‘short-starters’ track.
Debtech assisted Metro Trains Melbourne throughout the scope definition, tender and award phases of the track works, overhead works and signalling components of the project and provided contract management advice and support throughout construction and commissioning. Debtech’s role included: scope preparation, tender evaluation and negotiation and contract administration services.
