This Melbourne CBD building is recognisable from the outside as the home of the ABC TV series Utopia’s ‘Nation Building Authority’. Now the ground floor lobby is also a spectacle to entreat visitors and the caffeine-seeking public.
Debtech undertook the challenging roles of; coordinating alignment and consensus of the owners corporation, managing the design development, approvals, budget and contract management.
The project’s design requirements included; upgrade whilst ensuring ongoing building access, the ‘living green wall’, 30 seat café, accessible street front and lighting upgrade. The result is a magnificent Melbourne foyer experience and, with a café taking up residence, is also worth the short wait for a latte.
This small project included complexity with multiple closely engaged stakeholders, building tenants, asbestos removal, ongoing access constraints and a high-spec finish.
