Deinked Pulp Plant

The new deinked pulp plant at Australian Paper’s Maryvale Mill in the Latrobe Valley diverts up to 80,000 tonnes a year of waste office paper that would otherwise be exported or go to landfill.  The waste paper is converted into deinked pulp which produces a clean product ready to be transformed back into high quality recycled paper.  The plant reduces Australian Paper’s reliance on native forest fibre.

Almost all of the water used to pulp and de-ink the waste paper is cleaned and re-used in the plant and the whole facility is Victoria’s largest producer of renewable energy.

Debtech provided cost management services during the pre-feasibility study, and subsequently, during the project implementation provided contract management and scheduling services.
