Good for the Environment

Debtech is proud to continue providing project and contract management services for Orora (formerly Amcor) on their Botany Paper Mill project in Sydney NSW.

Leighton Contractors designed and constructed the paper machine building, stock preparation building, product store waste paper yard, mill offices, control room and other ancillary works. Metso supplied the new machine and all main process equipment and control systems for the Mill.

The new B9 paper machine, so named as it is the ninth paper machine to operate at the company’s Botany site, will produce more than 400,000 tonnes of 100% recycled paper which is then converted into corrugated board. The new Mill was designed specifically to minimise environmental impacts such as noise, odour, water discharges and reduction of waste to landfill.

Debtech continue to work closely with Orora on further projects at the Botany Mill site.

The new Paper Mill, which uses 100% recycled waste paper, will produce savings in energy and water and will improve the environmental performance of the facility.
