Australian Paper Logistics
Australian Paper engaged Debtech to assist with the contracting of container logistics services for product from their Maryvale Mill. The Westgate Ports intermodal freight terminal at Enterprize Road provides Australian Paper a modern warehouse within the Melbourne Ports Precinct with an adjacent rail siding.
A train travels each night from the La Trobe Valley, approximately 160km east of Melbourne and arrives at the intermodal freight terminal with loaded containers of paper reels, and leaves loaded with empty containers for the return trip to the mill. From the terminal the paper is either exported immediately, or unpacked into the Australian Paper Distribution.
